E. Coli levels spike in False Creek -Fall 2014

False Creek is home to to Vancouver’s Granville Island, Olympic Village, Telus World of Science and, apparently, a whole lot of E. Coli.

E. Coli levels usually spike during the last month of summer, but in September of 2014 they had reached record levels, and swimming or water activities were recommended against. Reports of dragon boat club members developing rashes from the water started to spread. We spoke to a local commercial diver about his experience with diving in False Creek during high levels of E Coli.
